gallowayJoseph L Galloway will be visiting the Bataan Battalion on April 14th through the 16th. While Mr. Galloway is our guest he will be attending many events including a briefing of his book We Were Soldiers Once… And Young. The movie We Were Soldiers,  will show at 1830 and 2100 on Wednesday the 14th at the Cineport 10. Afterwards he will be doing a book signing of We Were Soldiers Once… And Young at 2035.  After the movie and signing, Mr. Galloway will be attending our 108th Pass In Review at 1500 on pride field on Thursday the 15th where he will be an honorary attendee. Afterwards there will be a reception at Young Hall from 1600 to1630. Directly following the reception there will be an Awards Ceremony in HA106 from 1630 to1830. Mr. Galloway’s final event with ROTC will be our Dining Out at the Hilton Garden Inn. It is an honor to have such a person attend so many events with our battalion, and it is wonderful for him to be here as our guest! If you have any questions talk to your squad leader or chain of command.

Mr. Galloway is a newspaper correspondent and columnist, starting his career at the Victoria Advocate. After his stint at the Victoria Advocate, he worked for United Press International where he served three tours in Vietnam. In his time in Vietnam he was awarded a Bronze Star by the US Army for his actions at Landing Zone X-Ray in the la Drang Valley. His experience there is what led him to co-author his book We Were Soldiers Once… And Young. Currently he is a columnist with McClatchy Newspapers.
